Have you ever thought of the word museum? It may be Latin but it actually derives from the Greek word μουσείον meaning the shrine of the Μούσες, the Muses; the goddesses of literature, science and the arts. Museums exist to collect, preserve and display objects of artistic, scientific or cultural value.
Museums are not places of exclusion or exclusivity. They are not reserved for certain types of people, like art critics and intellectuals. If you are an inquisitive mind, the only thing you need is a set of good eyes and a thirst for observation.
It will take more than one visit to see everything.
Don't rush around in order to cover it all; you won't.
Try to enjoy the exhibits according to your own point of view.
Allow yourself to feel.
Our visits are not about anyone guiding us.
Quite the opposite. We are all guiding and exploring.
The idea is to choose the exhibit that stands out for you and present it to the rest of the group.
It has nothing to do with acquired knowledge but everything to do with impressions and feelings. Nobody is going to ask you for the painter’s biography note. Bless you internet!
Don’t worry about mistakes.
Just let yourself go and feel every moment of it.
It’s ok if you’re not artsy.
Try everything out before you reject anything in life.
